I cannot thank Lakshmi aunty enough for putting together such a beautiful and elegant wedding for me. Every event was beautifully decorated to match the mood and characteristic of the event. Both my husband’s and my immediate families as well my husband and I lived across the world from Lakshmi aunty. Regardless of this fact, Lakshmi aunty worked tirelessly to keep in contact with us, integrate our input as well provide a lot of her own insightful input to put together masterpieces for each day of the wedding. Most importantly, her planning and execution of the sangeet were talked about throughout and after the event. Coming from very traditional south Indian families, both my husband and I were not familiar with how to put together a sangeet as we did not have many examples from our own lives to borrow from. Nevertheless, Lakshmi aunty incorporated all our various, clustered suggestions into an entertaining, colorful, and classy sangeet that was far beyond what I could have imagined. The jasmine flowers, the metallic flower pots hanging from the ceiling will stick with me for years to come, and I have beautiful pictures to continue reminding me. All and all, thank you so much Lakshmi aunty for a wedding that me, my husband, our families, and our guests will never forget.

"We are very happy that we chose Vruddhi as the wedding planners for our daughter's wedding. Lakshmi and her team delivered brilliantly.

Our South Indian – Gujarati wedding events were made very memorable and enjoyable by Vruddhi.

The baraat was lively, enthusiastic and colourful and then the gaarba was even more livelier , enthusiastic and ever more colourful. The dhols and the dancers entering the venue with extraordinary floral décor was the just the beginning of the magic and the joy.

The outdoor sangeet with its grand pyro technic start, fairy lights tunnel walk, to the stylishly lighted stage backdrop with a variety of English vintage features placed was a visual and photographic treat.

The outdoor wedding with a dawn nalangu facing the coast, Kaasi yatra on the beach sand, floral stage facing the sea and colour coordinated cabana seating for the guests can only be experienced – any description would not do justice.

When it decided to rain before and during the sangeet, the way Lakshmi and her team worked dynamically and flexibly with parallel back up plans ensured that we would enjoy the event under all circumstances.

Our definitions were detailed and tight. Most of the set up needed to be unique and bespoke. We changed our minds a few times too. To add to the complexity was the weather and the location. All these were managed by Lakshmi exceptionally.

We described and specified our ideas and Lakshmi was able to execute the ideas in a manner that matched our imagination and expectations.

There has been great praise about the arrangements by our guests. What matters to us most is that our daughter said that everything was exactly the way she wanted."

This is not my first time partnering with Lakshmi from Vruddhi – she previously organised my niece’s wedding and I decided to engage her for my daughter’s wedding in Sydney – one of the best wedding-related decisions I have made.
With a Sydney wedding looming in the midst of severe lockdowns, and overseas travel bans, Lakshmi was my right hand throughout.
Her biggest contribution was pulling together a stunning Mehendi event for me. I had briefed Lakshmi on the idea of a Mehendi bazaar for the hundred ladies that would be attending. She procured the choicest of bangles, beautiful bindis, attractive earrings and marigold bags for every lady’s collection. Not only did Lakshmi focus on quality but she ensured that the accessories were all within my price range. Her attention to detail and coordination was well observed by guests who were deeply appreciative of the elegant Mehendi favours.
For the wedding decoration, I wanted to replace the usual centre table flower piece with traditional “pandhi sapaadu bommais” (dolls enjoying the wedding feast). With that in mind, Lakshmi scouted for 20 sets of these dolls during Navarathri, carefully packaged and couriered them.
Words cannot describe the endless effort Lakshmi put into identifying the perfect “Thalaisamaan”(headgear) for my daughter. None of my online purchases came remotely close to the one Lakshmi had picked keeping the bridal saree as a reference.
When it came to gifts for my dear ones, I wanted to go beyond just ‘sarees-as-gifts’. I wanted them to reflect my daughter’s favourite “yaanai” borders/elephant motifs. Lakshmi consequently made several trips to Kanchipuram, met several vendors and helped me curate the sarees. She braved Chennai floods and went above and beyond at bleak times when most of the weaves were underwater.
Finally, Lakshmi handled what I call ‘the most important exercise’ of coordinating the blouse-stitching, ensuring it was fit to specifications, picking up the blouses during the floods, packing and couriering it on time. Her services naturally were extended to then dhotis and shirts!
What stood out for me in all of this, was Lakshmi’s enthusiasm when it came to matching accessories, coordinating with my daughters and always going beyond the contract and normal duty of care. Whether it was making herself available for a quick video call, patiently listening to my ideas, being proactive or rescuing me at the last minute, nothing was too much for her.
If you are looking for that one person whom you can confidently trust to pull off a wedding, then you don’t have to look beyond Lakshmi. She is reliable, professional, with an eye for colour and some impeccable taste.

Disclaimer : Whatever I manage to capture through this note won't truly do justice to the wedding experience Lakshmi's team pulled off for us back in June in a very short span of planning time. This was a 2-states wedding btw so complexity kinda doubles here on something already too complicated. Now, I and my wife may be biased to not wanna see any big flaws in our own wedding but I'll leave that judgement to the reader's trust.
Let's start with service discovery. As might be apparent by now, our association with this team was fairly late in the game. Why? Because both of us thought we knew what we were up for until we realized we don't necessarily have all the corners covered. So we started exploring professional services in Chennai and found Vruddhi in a week or so.
Lakshmi was very hands-on from day one. She stayed put through our unpredictable schedules and loads of indecision on several big and small ceremony matters. By the time we got sure of mostly what we wanted, we realized a lot of it was too last minute for the team to execute. But to their credit, none of these requests were left out in the end as they're very well connected in the ecosystem.

To quote a few examples here :

• • Arranging a high-energy dhol-band in Chennai for North-Indian delight,
• • Goud-Bharai gifts were bought and packed up the same morning they were requested (from Sowkarpet),
• • The priest wasn't familiar with micro-ceremonies for Swagat - so Vruddhi people led it end-to-end themselves.
• •The height of this coverage for me was an exceptional sight where this team was head-wrapping safas for late baraatees in the middle of the road (using pavements of course).Next level altogether!.

Not to mention, the decor, bridal makeup, mehendi function and transport services rendered by the team was also done fantastically with minimum input. But it was the things we didn't discuss formally that the team owned and delivered beautifully and that added to the delight of the entire experience. Team Vruddhi owns it like a family would and gets it done beyond one's expectations. We wish them all the best.

When ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross), New Delhi, informed me that the PII-ICRC Awards for Journalists 2017 would be held in Chennai for the first time (the awards were always held in Delhi), the immediate thought that struck me was to make the event special – provide a Madras flavor, a traditional touch, without making it gaudy. My subsequent reaction was to talk to Lakshmi of Vruddhi and ask her to take care of the event, from liaison with the hotel (Residency Towers) to the nitty-gritty. And she more than lived up to expectations.
From the traditional South Indian style décor at the entrance to the banquet hall, complete with a singly strung sampangi, with pink lotuses at the end, and leaf parrots, to the eye-catching thalaiyaati bommai, thulasi madam, kuthu velakku, iyenar kuthirai and mann uruli , all strategically placed to welcome visitors, the décor was just extraordinary.
Many of the guests, including the officer on special duty at the Chief Minister’s Cell (the chief guest); the head of the ICRC Delhi delegation, a Frenchman; senior editors and journalists and some of the Who’s Who in Chennai appreciated the arrangements.
It was not only the décor, Lakshmi took care of the logistics, set up standees and a picture gallery in the hall, got DVDs ready before the event and willingly took up any job given to her. Kudos to Lakshmi and her team at Vruddhi.
